The Learning Zone
The Learning Zone has a great deal to offer you as a learner. It can help you with your studies and in following your own personal interests. Lessons in the first year in school, will inform you how best to use the Learning Zone to find resources. You may borrow 2 items for up to two weeks, and these can be renewed.
The Learning Zone is a computerised resource centre, containing about 9,000 resources. This includes books, periodicals, newspapers, internet facilities, matched to your curriculum needs. It is supported by the Learning Resource Manager who is always available to explain to you how you can benefit most from the wide range of materials which are constantly being developed.
Homework club takes place after school every day of the week, where expert help can be obtained on all subjects.
As well as fiction and non fiction books the Learning Zone has the following resources:
- Google Nexus
- Mini Cameras
- Mac suite
- Raspberry Pi mini computers
- A film area with cameras and green screens
The school is constantly looking for other areas of multimedia that can be added to the Learning Zone, in order to ensure that it is an up to date and essential resource.
