Over the past academic year, our students have been working hard earning enough positives to go on their rewards trips. This week students hit the bowling alley for their Platinum Rewards Trip. All of those who went had a fantastic time and as you can see from the pictures below there were smiles all around.

Our school has been celebrating Black History Month in assemblies this week. Students looked at achievements from members of the BAME community, from celebrities such as female footballer Alex Scott, to singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. On the 10th of October, as part of World Mental Health Day, our school took part in a ‘drop everything and read’. Our #Writeasmile video was played to each classroom highlighting the benefits of reading and writing on mental health. Here are some photographs from this morning.  

Thank you to everyone who came to our sixth form open evening. On the 4th October, we welcomed current year 11 students and their families into our sixth form centre. On Tuesday 3rd October our Year 11 students had the opportunity to learn the art technique Intaglio printmaking. Students began by cutting packaging to find the perfect shiny material which would be marked, inked, and rolled onto paper. As you can see below students created some fabulous pieces of art created using this technique.  

On Tuesday we celebrated the European Day of Languages here at Crompton House school. Students had the chance to try delicious Paella and churros, prepared by our catering team, at lunch. A cake sale took place, which our school raised an amazing £80 for the Manchester Refugee Support Network charity.    

This week, on Thursday 28th October, our school celebrated its 97th Birthday (Founders Day). This is a special date in our calendar as we remember the generosity of our school’s founders, Mrs Anne Ormerod and Miss Mary Crompton who donated Crompton House to the Church of England so this could be used as a school.
