Extra Curricular Drama at Crompton House School

The Drama department is a vibrant and busy part of the school. There is always something going on at lunch time and after school. In the Winter term we work on our ‘Evening of Shakespeare’ with the sixth form students directing our Year 8 and 9 students and we direct our upper school students in an abridged version of two Shakepeare plays.

These fantastic performances are then showcased at a local theatre to sell out audiences. In the Spring term the focus is on the upper school Musical production where we collaborate with Music to produce a large-scale production full of high energy acting, dancing and singing.

The department then focuses on our GCSE and A-level performances that take place in the Drama studio to an invited audience of parents. Then we return in the Summer term to collaborate with Music again to produce the lower school musical showcase with our Year 7 and 8 students.

There is also lower school Drama club, preparation for communions and opportunities to work at lunch with a member of the Drama department if you are about to take external LAMDA exams, or preparing for an audition… nothing is too much trouble.

We also run a technical club looking at lighting and sound.
