Ofsted Report

Crompton House School was last inspected in April 2015

Our latest Ofsted report

This is a good school with outstanding behaviour and safety. The Sixth Form is good and the provision is improving. This is thanks to consistently good teaching.

OFSTED PhotoWe are very pleased to be able to share with you the final report from our recent Ofsted inspection. Our school is a Good school with outstanding features, which is fantastic considering recent changes to the inspection regime in September 2013 and again in January 2014, which has meant that the threshold for ‘Good’ is now much more difficult to attain than was the case when we were last inspected in 2012.

Behaviour and safety are outstanding!

The behaviour of students is outstanding. Students’ conduct is excellent, including during break time, at lunch time, during assemblies and tutorial sessions, as well as in lessons and between lessons. As a result, students are always punctual for lessons and no learning time is wasted because of lateness.

Students conduct themselves well at all times.

In the vast majority of classes students are very enthusiastic and willing participants in learning activities. They work collaboratively to ensure that they get the most from the learning. For example, in some very small classrooms, students always consider each other’s needs before their own.

From their starting points, students make good progress in most subjects, including mathematics. In English, progress is outstanding.
