Italy Food Trip February 2016

Early in February twenty of our Year 10 and 11 students left England to experience the food and culture of southern Italy.  Visits to Herculaneum, Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius were interspersed with Gnocchi, Gelato, Pasta, Pizza and Struffoli demonstrations at various kitchens in the area.  The pupils also learned about other traditional foods such as fried fish, honey and local oils.

As can be seen from the photographs the trip was really hands on and the pupils and staff all learnt a lot about Italian food.  Many thanks to Mrs Franklin of the HE department who organised the trip, and  Mrs Harvey and Mr Banks who also accompanied the pupils.
