Manchester Airport IT Trip

Year 7 visited Manchester Airport as part of their ICT studies. Some of the pupils reported back: “We visited Terminal 2 and saw the transport hub, the prayer room, the check-ins and the computer room. At the visitors’ park we saw the planes landing and taking off and went on a Monarch Airplane.  We tried out the equipment and we all sat in the pilot’s seat, wearing the pilot’s hat!  We saw lots of different planes, including the biggest passenger plane in the world. We learnt about the different systems and technology used in the airport and how important it is that they all work safely.  In our IT lessons we will be using the information from the visit for our projects.  We all enjoyed the trip, and think it will help us in our IT work.”
