Year 10 and Year 12 Art Trip to Tropical World

Last Thursday, some of our GCSE and A level Art students visited Tropical World in Leeds, with the intention of finding visual information to support their project on ‘The Living World’.  At Tropical World we saw a huge variety of tropical plants which were great to photograph as well as draw.  There were also some stunning butterflies and birds which flew around freely, showing off their vibrant colours.  The aquarium section displayed fascinating large fish, with unusual shapes and colours which resulted in some beautiful photography.  There were also small mammals such as monkeys and meerkats as well as crocodiles and turtles – all good source material for out project.  We had plenty of time to collect some really useful visual information and it will be exciting to see the students work in class develop from this.
